Two full (moonless) nights on one target

Friday and Saturday nights (23rd and 24th May) - two whole nights of (almost) moonless skies and making the most of making broadband RGB images. I’m working on a new image of the Rho Ophiuchi star system, trying a different framing to incorporate more of the surrounding colourful nebulosity than in my previous attempt [LINK]. This region is available for the whole night, so I managed almost 16hrs on this target which I think should be sufficient for a very nice image, esp given how bright this region is. Friday night was luminance, Saturday was RGB and the image below shows the shooting of flat frames during astronomical twilight on the Saturday.

Friday night was cold, getting down to around 4 degrees with an exceptionally heavy dew. One of the disadvantages of a rool-off roof is that everything gets sopping wet. With all the dew heaters running flat out for two nights and the low temps, the batteries took something of a battering this weekend!
